haha..so quiet in this forum. ya. some comes with build-in sequencer. with avail. GM voices and styles for u to arrange.
but mostly typical sound.
one of the good brands are yamaha, korg...comes with really good styles and sound.
but many still prefer software based sequencer.

Take a peek of my song at here

I thought keyboard is generally easier than guitar in terms of flexibility...^_^
But I normally use instruments to test out on the arrangement then do it in softwares, as I don't have a performing standard for either keyboard or guitar...^_^"

Do you guys record while playing personally on keyboard for arrangement/chords...? o__O

I know nuts abt arrangement and I think hahaha its reallie a handicap for me when wanting to present a song....
I only can play keyboards so all my "demos" have keyboards only.....so I'll just play it and record into the piano first ( I own a digital piano) then use my laptop to record what I just played on the piano....

so my recording quality sucks...when i presented my songs in songwriting class...first time the teacher asked me....raining at your house is it....or is it ur ceiling fan HAHA....so i went to borrow a proper laptop mic instead of just using the inbuilt one....so it it clearer a bit...when recording vocals...but second time when i presented another song...teacher asked me...u use hp to record ah...wahhhh....quality so bad mehhh......hahahha....

yeshh....sooo...i bought the digital piano from yamaha thinking i can do simple arrangement on it...BUT I cannot record the drum loops without having to use the inbuilt accompaniment..so u jsut have to press one chord and the piano will play the rhythm and bass for u....which is really annoying.....so I am left with doing my own drum beats..which I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO...hahaha..so i giveeeeeeeeeee upppppppppp .....

lOL!
Your teacher so picky sia...
Was the quality really that bad...?

But I guess the drum loops in the keyboard really is a bonus for keyboard users...
As guitar players normally don't have that...^_^"

If you own a keyboard then I guess it's better to learn and make full use of them...' ~ '

Hi guys,

Just to share, my partner does the music arrangement using a Yamaha PSR403 keyboard (shld cost abt $300-400?), a Lexicon Lambda Audio Interface to connect the mic and keyboard using USB and GarageBand for Imac. The Yamaha keys is an all-in-one instrument to record music, all the instrumentation on our songs are recorded using it (and MIDI files) while Garageband is a useful software and rather easy to navigate once you get the hang of it.

You can obtain instrument samples for MIDI and use Garageband to fine tune and lay down the tracks for each individual instrument say drums, guitar, piano, bass and strings. This should be sufficient for a decent sounding demo :) If you do not own a Mac, you can also use other software like Cubase (this comes with the Lexicon) although it does take some time to get used to how it works. Just experiment around and you might find a lot of interesting wyas to enhance your recording.

We have a decent mic using a Rode NT2A but nothing beats recording the vocals in a studio so normally we would record the minus one track and record vocals in a studio. Feel free to ask us anything, we would be glad to share more :)

haha I have just started using the keyboards to do arrangement..or rather I tried to do it..yes..programe my own drums and all that..was tedious coz I'm totally new to it but was quite fun. ermmm ya so now I have problem getting it recorded clearly into the laptop. I used a audio cable..but still has an "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee" sound..like some machine sound in the background, so I guess like what July Snow says I need an audio interface...??..

GarageBand sounds like a good choice, just that need to buy Imac.I've tried a few softwares...they are overly complex (no time to read mannuals u noe haha) and more importantly it hangs my 1G RAM Sony Vaio whch is running on stupid Vista hhahaahahha...

I'm using a M-Audio Firewire Solo music interface to record my demo as well .... with a M-Audio NOva condenser Mic(which I think a dynamic mic will do as well for vocals) with a Nuedo3 recording software which is pretty easy to work with after you get the hang of it.... and a Yamaha PSR-GX76 keyboard cpnnected to my desktop using a USB to Midi interface call Midisport Uno by M-audio as well .... I am defintely under - ultilising my setup lol as I havent spend much time and effort exploring arrangement as yet .... adding in drums and sound effects ... compiling some free drum loops and instrument Vst plugins from the net , like Erhu and Pipa Vst which I just found last night :D

also , I found it is very beneficial for ur vocal recording if you have a good headphone to listen to urself when doing recording for the vocal and arragement part .... which I havent bought yet ... using my normal iphone earphones for my last recording which was 原谅我这无赖

will definitely explore more and put in more effort in arranging in the near future :)

How a Golf Umbrella Can Help Your Game
A golf umbrella will keep you dry for a full round of golf you play with your ping golf clubs.
How is that size possible without the thing weighing a ton? Ishiner With a fiberglass shaft and spreaders, the umbrella is lightweight and lightning resistant. A push button opening mechanism makes it easy to open the umbrella with one hand.
