Something I thought was good to share on basic recording with just windows operating software (No other software cost added)

When you open up sound recorder (<start><accessories><entertainment><sound recorder>)
By default. This recorder can only record up to 60sec.

To record a song that is longer.
1. Rip a song to wave format to your folder (windows media player) from a CD which is longer than OR of the duration you need to record.
2. Open the sound recorder
3. open the file that you had just ripped.

Now you can record to the length of the opened song.
In [sound recorder] platform
1. Click menu <edit><audio properties> a window pop-up
2. On <sound recording> menu click <volume> button
3. Select <Wave Out Mix> then close it (adjust the recording volume level accordingly)

Now you can play with it.
what ever come out from your speakers can be recorded.

For each recording you save in a different filename.
Eg.
1. First you record from your keyboard play.. save when complete.
2. Then you play the file with <media player> and record with guitar as it play... done then save another file.
3. Open the new file you had just saved and record with vocal .. done then save to a new file.
4. repeat till you get all done with the final file you saved.

||Editing||
You can <delete> the unwanted/<insert> a wave file between/add <echo> etc --- all in the <menu> selection of the sound recorder.

Hope above is useful for your basic sound recording.

Happy writing.
